Perhaps as a part of a minority player in the World of Warcraft you are seeking some WoW jewelcrafting guide. The jewelcrafting is a profession that was introduced during the Burning Crusade expansion. Commonly, WoW players are not that into this kind of profession.
Jewelcrafting has actually its use in the world of Azeroth. Its value is almost the same just like other professions. If you are into this, you can be able to make your own rings, necklaces, trinkets ..read the full article

January has proven to be the most active month ever here at TAGN, at least when counting page views.
As usual, that has little to do with me and a lot to do without factors outside of my control. Heck, I was out of town for a full week in January. What does that say?
First, I put up a couple of posts about Hulkageddon and for a while Google had me as the first result for that search term. The ..read the full article

I’m extending the contest one more day because, frankly, the funny hasn’t really shown through as yet.
Somebody come along and show us how it is done… please.
Last night Paradise Lost decided to do a Leviathan run, and then shortly after they headed to Veeshan’s Peak with about 20 pick up players in tow. Brave souls. I tagged along for Leviathan on my druid. There’s a very long history to my warden (who used to be a fury, a few times). Back in DoF (Desert of Flames) my main was my templar. Then in KoS (Kingdom of Sky) I switched over to the fury. When EoF came ..read the full article
Here’s Ste Curran’s keynote for the current Global Game Jam. Ste was the main face behind classic Edge columnist Redeye’s mask, one third of One Life Left and creative director of console-toy supremos Zoe-Mode. He has things to say. He’s worth listening to. (more…)

Sundays are for sipping tea, wondering whether you’re going to be able to find any time to play a game with all the shit you have to write today (or maybe go see Los Campesinos at Rough Trade) and compiling a list of interesting games-related reading from across the week, while trying to resist posting a link to some manner of pop music that caught my (and Walker’s for that matter) ear. Go!
PC Gamer’s hug-king editor Tim Edwards on the ..read the full articleOkay, so it’s no secret that I spend a LOT of my time coming up with talent guides. I’ve done talent guides for leveling. Talent guides for end-game raiding. Analysis of what talents I think are good. Analysis for what talents I think are bad and should be changed. I also apologize in advance for just rambling theoretically about guide writing and talent choices. None of this reflects actual things we know are coming, but I want to talk about ..read the full article
Last night and this morning I haven’t had much in the way of problems. There is a graphics driver crash I seem to get once per session when I sit down to play. The annoying part about the crash is that, afterwards the launcher has to verify all 98K files, which takes about 15 minutes.
I’ll have to check the forums to see if there is something I can do about the crash. But I can officially move Star Trek Online ..read the full article
Let it not be said that we do not listen to our critics and take their suggestions seriously.
A number of people have pointed out since we began our Working as Intended podcast last year that we tend to sometimes talk… a bit much.
Fifteen minutes, they said, would be much more reasonable to listen to than 45.
But to our thinking, a fifteen minute podcast would meet, at best, Web 2.5 standards. We here at The MMO Gamer have always prided ourselves on being ..read the full article
Pretty great, varied, selection of games to be had at a discount this fair weekend, although I am beginning to wonder if we’ll ever have just one bargain bucket that doesn’t highlight the discrepancies of international pricing. There is much more cheapness to be had at SavyGamer (including a nice little scam to get into the Battlefield Bad Company 2 beta without committing to buying the game). BARGAINS GO: (more…)

So here’s a thing: Werewolves and Vampires are being added to free FPS Battlefield Heroes. It’s some kind of micro-payment event, lasting a month, where you can pay to be able to rise again in the night maps of the game. “Once-dead Nationals can be transformed into blood-sucking vampires and Royals into teeth bearing werewolves.” Okay then. A trailer, below, explains a bit more. (more…)

This was supposed to be the last build of Shotgunity, the game we’ve been making using the free Unity development suite, with Build 0.8. Starting from scratch, with no prior knowledge of Unity, or indeed any type of coding, we planned to make a game based on RPS by today. Did we hit our deadline? Did we hell. But find out how surprisingly far we got after the cut. (more…)

Trinket Itemization and Philosophy Quote from: Bornakk (Source) Our raid item philosophy has evolved a lot since vanilla. The tier sets were once considered a badge of honor. Someone stalking around (or mailbox afking) with their full set bonus might as well have been sporting a legendary item. These days, we virtually guarantee that any player with an interest in raiding is going to be able to complete at least the lowest level version of their set with just a minimal level ..read the full article
Valve have announced the latest stats about Steam’s performance in 2009. If I were to plot them on a graph they would go off the top of the paper and I’d have to draw on the desk. Which would leave no room for a title. And my graph would be marked down. Steam now has over 25 million users. Which is a 25% increase over the year. Which means Gabe Newell’s throne made of diamonds is now 25% sparklier. And ..read the full article
The head start for people who pre-ordered Star Trek Online begins at 10am Pacific time today, Friday January 29th, 2010.
That would be 1pm Eastern time and 8am Hawaiian time.
As the announcement says, it is not too late to pre-order. Everybody else has to wait until Tuesday to start playing.
There was a ~60MB patch to download this morning. We’ll see if that is all it takes to get the show on the road.
Meanwhile we’ll see if my cunning caption contest plan ..read the full article
